Hello. Unfortunately, I do not know of any settlement company that does not take a portion of your first few payments as part of their fees. Most companies do this to cover their costs of setting you up, like you said. However, $4000 is a lot of money and if some company quoted that to you as an initial fee, I’d be very careful.
It’s one thing to apply a larger portion of your first few monthly payments to fees, its entirely another thing to request $4000 before they even do anything. That sounds fishy to me.
